When glib2 was updated to depend on the pcre21042.tcz extension instead of pcre.tcz, this broke mc.tcz which relied on pcre.tcz as a recursive dependency.
I suggest the following line be added in mc.tcz.dep for TC14 x86_64 (maybe also x86?) to fix this:
pcre.tcz
Thank you.

done - thanks

When I try install mc.tcz on clean installation microcore tc14x86 there was missing dependency. It was libssl.so.1.1 from openssl-1.1.1!
-
updated mc posted in tc-15.x x86 repo.

TC14 repo is not supported anymore?
For me TC15 is unusable becouse alsa.tcz don't work with my hardware.
Can't you copy old alsa fromTC14 to TC15 repo?
-
Hi neonix
TC14 repo is not supported anymore? ...
If you load pcre and openssl-1.1.1 , doesn't that solve your problem?
-
Yes, I can solve the problem by myself and waste precious time. Modern computer offer automatisation in other to save time. I hope by using TC, everything will be more easy, faster and not be bloatwared. I recently discovered HaikuOS that many process are automatised and if something doesn't work I can find support in the forum.

I'm sorry, let me rephrase that:
If I add openssl-1.1.1.tcz to the mc.tcz.dep files, doesn't that solve your problem?
You reported missing dependencies and I'm trying to address that.

Generally, extensions don't get recompiled for previous releases.
The mc.tcz.dep files have been modified. If you run:
tce-audit builddb
tce-audit updatedeps
tce-audit fetchmissing
tce-update
exitcheck.sh reboot
your .dep files should be updated and missing extensions added.

The problem with missing openssl-1.1.1.tcz in mc.tcz.dep was fixed in T15-32 repo but still exist in TC14-32 repo. I understand you are support only TC15 right now. But you should change your policy in case if something don't works in TC15. There should be stable TC14 and experimentary TC15. You should support both versions. You shoud be user frendly, otherwise you will loose fans amd they go to different distribution, becouse its iritating when something don't works. Newbe Llinux users will be dissapointed. And TCL is the simple distribution to start for newbies.
-
..but you reported the problem and @Rich fixed it, no?
-
Hi Juanito
Yes, I added openssl-1.1.1.tcz to the mc.tcz.dep files in
both TC14 repositories.

fwiw though im not a fan of that popularized term (or others (https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,27265.msg175430.html#msg175430))
im of the opinion that those *LESS* familiar with "our" digital environment
might be better suited learning *MORE* in a `sandboxed` environment
EG : "Public Access *NIX System(s)" - https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,25400.0.html
Newbe Llinux users will be dissapointed.
perhaps but they know nothing of disappointment....compared to
ppl from the 90's who spent $2000 or $3000 plus on win3.1/95/98 ect box (https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,27283.0.html)
only to find the internet script kides (or worse) exploited activeX and F$*!* the install ;D

our family purchased a franklin ace 1200 before they were even officially released to the general public. a slick computer salesman convinced my father that a complete set of an Ace 1200 with every single add-in and add-on piled into/onto/and/around(extra-floppy-drive/maxxed-ram/monitor/keyboard/mouse/joystick/printer/floppies/etc) plus all the software was sold separately and individually as well. you get the picture...$5k out the door. just think of what that same $5k will purchase today! wowza!
it was used for personal and professional purposes from circa 1982 thru circa 1997
it was still operational(and in fairly pristine condition) circa 2014 when it was disassembled and sent to the electronics recyclers

in hindsight, he should have held off long enough to be able to buy used equipment and then bought both apple compatible and ibm-pc compatible machines.
