Yeah. it's not ancient but it came with only a 1.6 GHz CPU, a 20 Gb hdd and 256 MB RAM.
The laptop also came with an Intersil Corp Prism 2.5 Wavelan chip (on Windows, the GUI is in spanish) it also has an Ethernet port (would TC automagically detect it?) and seems to not have the driver(s) for it, thus I'm unable to access the internet to download programs (extensions?) to add to my TC desktop. I tried to download wicd via
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/tce/wireless_tools.tcel (http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/tce/wireless_tools.tcel)
through my existing (installed) linux but all I get is some garbled trash:
instead of downloading the file, it opens a page with a bunch of the above!?
Thanks all,

Try downloading it as a file/binary instead of viewing it, i.e. with wget, or save as...
-
It appears to have Intel ethernet, so try grabbing the firmware extension. Prism chipsets are well supported also in the wireless extension.

When I tried "Save As", I got: (in Opera):
The file
file:///home/james/Downloads/wireless_tools.tcel
is a binary, saving it will result in a corrupt file.
Using wget worked like a charm, tho! ;D
That worked! :o Thanks! ;D

Do you mean the wireless tools? If not, what is the "firmware extension"'s URL?
The ethernet in the laptop is, indeed, Intel. It is an Intel Corp 82801CAM (this is what I got from a Linux benchmark / system info program called HardInfo v0.4.2.3)
Thanks,

It's available in the same downloads page.
