I have burned the standard TinyCore 13.1 32-bit image to a CD.
The CD boots fine if I use it to create a virtual machine in QEMU from the command line.
However, when I try to boot physically from that CD on the same UEFI-only system (secure boot disabled), the CD is not being recognized by the DVD drive.
What could be the issue?

The 64bit iso should work with uefi.

As suggested, I create a new sum-checked CD with TinyCorePure64-13.1.iso, which will boot into the Grub menu that gives 4 options: tc, tcw, core, corew.
Selecting any of these options will result in a black screen and is not booting correctly.
Any idea why this does not work?
What are the recommended options to boot Tiny Core Linux from a CD or iso image in Qemu?

I seem to recall that only the TinyCorePure64 iso has the uefi boot files - perhaps Xfbdev doesn’t like your graphics hardware - does <ctrl-alt-backspace> take you to a console prompt?
See the qemu info file for how to boot the iso.

Are you booting with uefi with qemu ??
Are you using TianoCore ??
Do you see this boot screen ??
