Title: how to mount ExtSd card from a Android Smartphone - TCL 12
Post by: grenchyoll on March 25, 2021, 08:34:58 PM
Hello TCL members

after long time learning , I was able to have my USBdrive
working with many applications running , all back up , with TCL 12 latest installed .

But I can not find info about how to mount Android smartphone sdCards

I use this same smartphone to tether internet , I tried both
situations , tetheering and not tetheering , but ExtSDCard never
shows up on MOUNT TOOL

cant copy DMESG here because I cant copy and paste from terminal no matter how
i try it doesnt work . Its a bad day maybe.

WHAT I TRIED :
1. connect smartphone
2. enable tether on the phone
3. sudo udhcpc -i usb0 , so I have internet working
4. refresh devices with "sudo rebuildfstab "
5. open MOUNT TOOL to see if extCard is there ,

and nothing happens , I only have Sda1 , Sda2
mounted , and in "green"  , nothing about my Android phone

searching forum about MTP only information I found
about a "simple-mtp.tcz"  which could not find on repo .
Searched repo nothing similar to mtp as well .

any help is really  welcome .

THANK YOU

GrenchyoOll

Only older Android supports showing as an USB disk. If you need MTP for a newer android, you may need to build it yourself.

Hello Curaga . Thats the spirit .... trying to revive an old Samsung S3 mini + old Dell laptop pentium M , 1gb ram . So from your reply I assume it should support mtp ?!?!?!
