Title: [SOLVED] Mouse cursor is malformed
Post by: Leee on January 13, 2019, 09:12:37 AM
Wondering if anyone else has seen anything like this - my mouse cursor is stretched out to about 4 times the normal height and is mostly transparent - it's as if there are three rows of empty pixels in it for every row that actually appears.  It makes it hard to see and hard to use.

I'm using Xorg-7.7.tcz, graphics-KERNEL.tcz and jwm.tcz on an x86 system.

I first noticed the issue when trying out Core 10.x but my primary version is much older so I loaded the entire TinyCore "museum" to try to regress back to where it worked right:  It looks normal on TinyCore 4.77 and 5.4 but wrong in all of 6.4.1, 7.2, 8.2.1, 9.0 and 10.0beta1.

I haven't yet looked into what extensions may have changed versions between the various TinyCore repos

My hardware is a 2005 vintage Dell Dimension 4700 and lspci shows the following (with the video h/w on about the 3rd and 4th lines):

I had the exact same problem on my eeepc. I believe installing xf86-video-intel fixed it.
