Title: Installing on ESXi 6.5
Post by: rmills on December 26, 2018, 06:26:30 PM
Trying to test out TinyCore or TinyCorePlus on an ESXi 6.5 machine. However when I try to install I can't see any hardrives. I can only install SCSI controllers, I don't have an option to install IDE or SATA drives. Are there any workarounds to use the default LSI or Buslogic controllers with ESXi 6.5?

Delete the existing hard drive, and create a new hard drive. Then you will have the option to change it to SATA.

Mount the ESXi 6.5 ISO image to the host.
Connect to the DCUI console of the host.
Power-On the host hardware and allow the host to boot from the ISO image.
The boot process will begin with the Boot Menu and progress to the Loading ESXi screen.
