Just wanted to find out how TC compared to other big distros

I do not like this question. First because of the list. There are very important players are missing like REDHAT and its clones, e.g. CentOS as well as SLAX, DSL, Puppy, etc. if you are listing for example Mandriva (as Mandrake named since a long time), SLACKWARE, etc.

Also, for which purpose? For server, for desktop, for special applications, live system or not, etc?

Simply, TC can't be compared to the listed distros, it is created for something else than those listed.

Anyhow, this is just a personal view.

P.S. I'm running for example CentOS 5.3 as my home server. Advising SLAX for beginners to learn what the hell LINUX is as a first system. Using special live disks as rescue system, another for partitioning, etc. And spending time for TC as a base for a dedicated "customer segment" a base to build something on.
