Hi all,
When working in command-line mode, it regularly happens that I make some typing mistake, and get a login prompt. The only thing I can currently do when that happens is shutdown the machine and reboot.
What is the right way to get back to CLI or desktop view?
(Ctrl-F1 etc doesn't seem to work when this login prompt is shown.)
Many thanks in advance

At the login prompt just type tc to log in as the default user "tc". The desktop should then start automatically, otherwise type startx .

Works! Thank you!
(Could I have found this in corebook? Where?)
BTW, is there a way to 'accept answers' on this forum?

I don't think so. At least not directly. I guess how to log in is considered basic Linux knowledge.
However, the core book mentions tc to be the default user in chapter 10.
There is no 'accept answers' feature in this forum.

And to add to @Misalf comment you could search in the forum. To find questions and answers.
And go to wiki.

Just FYI, I did search this forum for this.
Perhaps I'm just particularly stupid.
