Just getting back to PureCore64 after a bit of a break so please bear with me..
My 32 bit version works admirably on VirtualBox but my 64bit has always exhibited very, very slow graphic response.
I have a Toshiba Satellite with AMD RV710/1792 Mobility Radeon HD 4530/4570/545V graphic.
I am using Xfbdev but have tried xf86-video-ati/Xorg however X will not start without the framebuffer driver.
Any clues ?

Hi roger@languageONE.com.au
Have you tried running directly on the hardware to make sure it's not a VirtualBox issue?
-
Sorry, I was not clear. The 32 bit version is VirtualBox while the 64bit is direct.
-
The 32bit version defaults to Xvesa, which is slightly faster than fbdev. So you should try to get the native driver working, or failing that, use xf86-video-vesa.

xf86-video-ati defaults to GLAMOR by default since version 7.9.0, see: https://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-ati/commit/?id=f11531c99fcd6473f58b4d10efaf3efd84304d8e
So you need to install Mesa for 3D acceleration by installing Xorg-7.7-3d.tcz, see: http://www.tinycorelinux.net/8.x/x86_64/tcz/Xorg-7.7-3d.tcz.info
Also you should make sure that you have installed the proper radeon firmware, see: http://www.tinycorelinux.net/8.x/x86_64/tcz/firmware-radeon.tcz.info
Does it work now?
Also, for best performance, it would make sense to upvote the request to update xf86-video-ati to the latest version, see: http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,21381.0.html
As well as updating Mesa to the latest version, which would yield in tremendous performance gains for AMD graphics hardware, see: http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,21367.0.html

Yes, that's better.
Thank you people

My suggestion to you Roger is to register a new account with some user-account name not with your mail address.
There are so many email bots that getting email addresses on the web, and you getting more and more spam. So hidden your email address, is the best trick so you can fight back.
I don't know if some moderator on this forum can edit you account name to something else.
-
Admins can, but you should also be able to change your "display name" in the settings.
-
Thanx didn't know this.
So Roger visit this page and edit your Username (displayname)
