Title: how to submit new extensions
Post by: wysiwyg on June 23, 2016, 10:27:58 AM
Good morning all, I did a search about this but couldn't find an answer to the question.  Although these extensions were for our fork of TC, we would like to contribute back to TC as well.  How do I go about getting them in the repo?

Also, our fork has begun to institute meta packages for various computer models to install all the software, drivers, etc with a single package instead of having to locate and install separately.  So, for example, if someone has a Dell Dimension 2100 (and a meta package has been created) they can just install something like dell_dimension_2100.tcz and everything will be installed for them.  Would the TC team be interested in these as well?

Thanks,
Dave

Hi wysiwyg
Directions for submitting an extension can be found here:

This link also includes information about compiler flags to use and packaging.

Thanks Rich, I'll take a look at it!  Someone please let me know if the computer model meta packages are desired as well.

Thanks,
Dave

I don't think hw-specific metapackages really belong in the repo.

No problem, I just figured that it would be easier for the (less-knowledgeable) users to *easily* find one package to install everything instead of them spending time trying to figure it out on their own.  Thoughts from others?
