Hello,
I'm trying to get Skype 4.3 working on Tinycore 6.x.
This is the first time i'm using this promissing Distribution.
I found some paths to put libs und the hint to convert Debian packages with mksqhashfs.
It seems to work so far but the missing libs give me a headache.
(Set up 4.x, 5.x and 6.x vm s just to get more and more missing libs reported)
Does it make sense trying to get the 4.x libs running on 6.x (is it recommed or not / did anyone successfully use those) ?
Has anyone by chance created a working .tce yet ?
I didn't find out if tce-load works with "older" repos - does it and if so how ?
I really appreciate any help,
tinycore runs like an ace if only skype would work..

Did you try the getskype extension?
-
yes but the 4.0.x versions are to old,
it doesn't let me connect
-
You could pm the extension maintainer to request an update or try to modify the script yourself?
-
I will try, thank you.
Just hoped anyone else allready got it working :)
EDIT:
1. Wrote a message to the getskype author.
2. Unpacked getskype package but the script does not include download of the required QT-Libs
(probably wasn't required for older skype versions)

Just tried Skype 4.3 ("dynamic") on TC 7.0beta3.
It depends on libQtWebKit which is not available in Tiny Core's repo since 5.x.
I guess QT may need a rebuild to provide WebKit (or you could try on TC 4.x).

Hi Misalf,
I tried the Tincore 4.x version but even the qt-4.x dbus package didn't work for me.
(Skype kept requesting it even after install)
I'm not really sure what is all needed for getting buildchain run on tinycore..
..have to check it out.
Thank you

Corepure64 tc-7.x has qt-4.x-webkit and qt-5.x-webengine
