I get the msg that firefox blocked my flash plug-in because of security problems. Which seems to indicate there may be an update which getFlash11 does not pick up (?)
-
Does Flash exist with no security issues?

Why would you think that getFlash11 is outdated?
Use can use this link to check if need to run getFlash11
http://flashbuilder.eu/flash-player-version.html (http://flashbuilder.eu/flash-player-version.html)
or http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ (http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/)
Simply run getFlash11 then reboot to use the latest version.
Which Firefox version are you using?
Which Flash version are you using?
Latest Firefox version is 44.0.3
Latest Flash for Linux is 11.2.202.559
when new versions are released, it's common for the old version to be blocked. Simply run getFlash11 and update to latest version, it's as easy as that.

No!
As for my original request: I repeated the installation from the commandline
tce-load -i getFlash11 && tce-load -i getFlash11
and it worked.
