Title: Switch off RPi LEDs
Post by: wigster on November 30, 2015, 05:40:34 PM
Hi,

Is there any way to switch off the internal LEDs of the RPi through some software shenanigans in PiCore? I am actually running PiCorePlayer, but I hope it should be possible more generally? I am using it as an audio device and it flashes at night too much...

Thanks!

Well, the power led is direct connected to the power rail..   Everything else is likely firmware controlled.

Have you tried black electrical tape to cover them...

Not sure, but look at the firmware switch: "act_led_activelow"

This was introduced in the "+" boards.   "A+" and "B+".   I was looking at the drawing for the original Model B..

Nice Option

Ah I see. Yep only way to disable on the original is to remove the led (replace with standard diode with similar fv value.) Or tape is just as good;)
