first let me thank everyone that has made tinycore possible
it is THE best designed linux distro period
I dont think this is an option but
what i would like as an option is to have all my persistent save folders saved to a single folder
that is a tcsave folder that would have /home /opt /root /tce and everything else inside
the boot options would then be
tcsave=sda1 - tc will use the tcsave folder on sda1
tcsave=no - tc will not use any tcsave folder
or no boot code - tc will look for the first tcsave folder and symlink with it
these are just my thoughts
i know this would require modifications of scripts etc
so i am not asking anyone to do work they are not interested in
i intend to look at the scripts anyway
thanks again for making tinycore
it is my primary distro and a joy to use

That would be unnecessarily complex, restrictive, and confusing.
It would be better and easier to just allow opt= and home= to specify a base directory.
That, however is not the way it is currently.

Not complaining at all, really enjoying TinyCore, but it would be nice to be able to specify directory/s. :)

Hi!
You can search the forum for "custom boot codes" and implement your own solution.

yes I am working on my own solution
Tinycore is so well designed I am confident that this can be done
Thanks again to everyone for making tinycore
