Title: Manually download 2.x .tce files? (to get wireless connection up) [SOLVED]
Post by: samedirection on June 09, 2009, 04:38:48 AM
I would like to put TinyCore on a machine for which the only networking I have available is wireless.  This means of course that before I can use TC's AppBrowser, I need to have wireless networking already working.  I think I can figure out what extensions I need, and which drivers, and I know how to manually get wireless up and running, but:

Where can I point my browser to find the .tce or .tcz files for TCL 2.0? I have tried different permutations on the repository URL to find the raw directory, of *.tce, *.info and *.dep files, to no avail.

Thx

Point your browser at the .info file for the extension you want, then either:

1. Copy the url after "wget -c ..." in a terminal window and remove the ".info" part
or
2. Edit the address in your browser and remove the ".info" part.

i.e. http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/2.x/tce/aalib.tcel.info (http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/2.x/tce/aalib.tcel.info)

becomes http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/2.x/tce/aalib.tcel (http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/2.x/tce/aalib.tcel)

Thanks, that worked just fine.  Wireless up and running now.
