Title: Inadequate colors

I found that a png picture may look differently when viewed under TC and in GIMP, under openSUSE. While in TC the picture is more gray, in openSUSE it is more brown. Is it due to probable differences between png libs, or graphical modules (aka display drivers), or even viewers implementation?

More likely to be a difference in your monitors' colour balances..

Obviously I'm speaking of one monitor :o displaying different systems.
Or did you mean that under different systems there are different monitor color balances?..

Uhm, sorry... I didn't think of that it would be too stupid even for me, to ask such a question using two monitors... But for others it would not seem so obvious. Or maybe I did and this was why I posted this without specifying such details...

Then it is likely the difference in graphics chips.

I know little of this, but, it's also only one graphics chip in use. Intel GMA 3150 if I get it right.
There is one netbook (and one display) in use and several different systems, they are: openSUSE (one of latests), Windows XP Pro x64, Tiny Core and iso-based Arch. I noticed some differences between colors in openSUSE (GIMP) and TC (fbcondecor splash daemon & also fbi viewer). I thought this was because of differences in png libraries versions... Maybe they decode the image in different ways... legacy and actual.

Hi Scampada
Under  Preferences  in gimp are the  Color  options set tot he same values in Susie and TC?
