Title: dCore port naming convention
Post by: Jason W on June 21, 2015, 08:29:16 PM
While working on the ISO creation I have found that in scripting and other reasons it will be beneficial if we used the name dCore-vivid as we do dCore-jessie.  We are well aware of the distro and release names and there will not be a Debian and Ubuntu release sharing the same name.   The ub- prefix is only a distraction and makes scripted routines less portable.  It was used since the first Ubuntu dCore was started as a novelty but it became official dCore.

My proposal is to use dCore- as the prefix.  Let me know if there are any good reasons not to.

As there has been no objection, I will go ahead with the move to prefix all dCore ports with dCore-, today I had a boot error when switching from dCore-jessie to dCore-vivid on a usb key as I made a typo omitting the ub- prefix.  This will just make things more simple.

Done, the ub- prefix removed.  Updated in release and release candidates.

All mentions of ub-dCore in the wiki changed to dCore except where they point out the difference between the Ubuntu and the Debian flavor in general.
