It's amazing how everything can change on a moments notice. I was not expecting things to happen this quickly, but I now have a forum set up on

Hard to tell from just the name. I think meo qualifies. Perhaps nude pictures should be a requirement for registration on the forum. It's the only way to know for sure. (I'll have to PM Robert about this)

Given the tone of this conversation, I have a few ideas why that might be... :\ It isn't that we're not here, some of us are just quiet because a disappointingly large part of the open source community just gets *silly* about it -- naked pictures? Really? ANYWAY, in an attempt to avoid further derailing, rad forum Softwaregurl, I'm also attempting to roll my own extensions and will be submitting momentarily... :D

I was kinda dark rebel biker in my wild twenties. I personally do not find your use of the female form offensive. It is only used in a few images and is not the focal point, but an integral and inseperable part of the over all effect, power and message.
You are so far off base. I had privately left this forum and do so now publicly until I see your account suspended.
(insert the mass quantities of profanity that would be deserved if this were not such a polite and respectful fos forum, other then you).

If you're referring to me, the last quote isn't mine; the ref was to a response involving a pic of a dead female body, and I stand by my post that absolutely no hostility was involved at this end.

I remember thinking when reading that thread involving the picture of the apparently dead naked woman that some of the comments verged on the offensive in terms of .ism. Personally, I think the world has lived enough with that sort of behaviour and attitude, and that there is no space for it whatsoever in a public forum. I do think the moderators should review that thread now that it has been pointed out (and re-read this one) and at the very least seek strong apologies from anyone who has overstepped the line. The women who have commented on this thread are clearly laying waste to the myth that women are in any way less technically competent than men and I strongly feel that it is quite intolerable that they are subjected to harassment in any thread by anyone. Whether such apologies would be accepted is of course up to those so offended, but their deciding to no longer contribute to tiny core would, in my opinion, be a great loss to the community at both the technical level and collegiate.

I disagree....besides misquoting (attributing a lewd post to me that I didn't make) and completely misreading me, I think the point made regarding offense posts well-taken. I can't find it, but it went something like:
jpeters: Is that a casket?
linus72: Who cares...that's a NAKED WOMAN!!
jpeters: It's good there are no women on the board (except softwaregurl, meo, .....)
I guess it didn't bother you much, and you would like to see me suspended for interfering.

Having read the thread jpeters refers to, I agree with him. I absolutely believe that he was using irony in that thread to point out that the other poster was being .ist. I would appeal to softwaregurl to re-read what jpeters said since it is clear to me that she has mistaken who the offensive party actually was. It seems to me that jpeters comments on this new thread are simply a continuation of that other one, but I trust jpeters recognises that his irony was somewhat disguised and easily taken the wrong way.

I don't think Jpeters was being serious and neither was I.
If anyone has issues with seeing a naked woman, check your id and make sure your 18 ::)

On the issue of posting pictures or links to pictures that contain nudity, those posts will be deleted as they are in violation of policy as already discussed and determined by team TC. One instance flew under the radar but in the future they will be removed.
EDIT: The links or pictures will be deleted, not necessarily the entire post.
