Title: network
Post by: cast-fish on March 02, 2015, 04:26:58 AM
Hello,

normally the deskop of tinycore has the icon in the control panel for
setting your network  dchp

how do you do that same task from the terminal?

in other words...see the same options in the console as what that "gui network window" offers you

thanks

what i am trying to do is ask tinycore to

1) "look" for the existing NIC card in the laptop (brand model)
2)  and find it's right driver
3)........install that driver....
4) and get TCL to connect to the web

thanks

The looking for the nic, etc is not done by the cpanel network applet.

You can look at this to see what it does:

It is all done automatically for all supported network cards. They connect via DHCP by default.

yeah..

it turned out that the network cable here was  not connected right. It was a poor connection on the rear of the device. Sorted it out now with a new cable.

Initially it seemed to be a software issue....but was infact a poor cable
