Title: Re: Allwinner A10 Release - scrip fails to execute
Post by: vinikon on February 12, 2018, 08:29:18 AM
Hi,
I just tried to follow all the instructions and run the script.

At some point it gives me a message:
/dev/sdg
mount: applet not found
Mount failed - Abort

What could be the cause?
I'm running 4.2.9-tinycore on a PC,
the card is a mini SD card plugged in a kind of "multi-card adapter" which goes in a USB port.
It's seen as an /dev/sdg device

Thanks in advance,

Vik

Forgot:

When checking the device - I see an empty Linux partition. There's no files nothing.

I'll try to perform manually all instrucitons in the script.

May be it's better to write a text guide aka: 1. create a linux partition, 2. dd files to it, 3. sync(hdparm) etc.

Thanks

My thougt is that in the script(the fdisk section) you didn't specify which type of partition you should have( I think it should be a vfat).

Just an idea....

Title: Re: Allwinner A10 Release - plugged as SD card
Post by: vinikon on February 12, 2018, 08:51:42 AM
So,
I tried to plug the card in the SD card slot:

I have this:
"/dev/mmcblk01: no such file or directory"
/dev/mmcblk0:
mount: applet not found
Mount failed! - Abort"

Any ideas??
Title: Re: Allwinner A10 Release-MANUAL install
Post by: vinikon on February 12, 2018, 09:50:34 AM
Hi again,

I finally did the manual install - dd the two files(uboot)
Created a small vfat partitition for all those which are copied automatically and created a big Linux and swap part.

All is working well. Have the wifi functionning.

Thanks for your work!!!
Title: Re: Allwinner A10 Release-X - doesn't launch
Post by: vinikon on February 12, 2018, 10:02:30 AM
I followed instructions on how to install X - and after all downloading and installing - it says"connection to xserver lost"

I also wanted to ask how to install it on NAND... may be a simple "DD" and it is ok?

Thanks in advance
