Title: Back to Bootloader without rebooting
Post by: CFH on December 02, 2014, 04:25:50 PM
is there a command that will kill the current session and launch the bootloader, like rebooting but without rebooting?

I have TinyCore on a USB - when rebooting we have to hit F12 to specify to boot from USB instead of hard drive.  It would be nice to save a step and just reload the bootloader to select a different distro.

Thanks...

Usually you can change the boot order on start up by changing the settings in BIOS, not sure if you can do the same if you have UEFI.

Thanks, I was just wondering if there was a faster way other than altering the default boot order.  If not, that's fine - just wondering.

A far as I am aware, it is the (BIOS) program in the computer that loads the boot loader, so I don't think it can be circumvented.

That makes sense.  Thanks...
