Title: booting picore without xserver
Post by: manit123 on October 29, 2014, 07:19:01 AM
Is it possible to boot picore without any gui ?
I mean , I want to use it as ssh & ftp server that can be accessed via ip address from remote client on same network. I don't want it to send any video signal on hdmi port (or atleast after booting) .

Also , can somebody point to explanation of different versions found at http://distro.ibiblio.org/tinycorelinux/5.x/armv6/releases/5.3/

Read http://distro.ibiblio.org/tinycorelinux/5.x/armv6/releases/5.3/RELEASES

Use piCore-5.3.1-SSH.zip it comes with no X.

But still all versions send signal to video output during boot.

Yes. It is an SSH image, no X. You wanted SSH in your opening post.Than what is the problem? You got SSH.

Switch video from HDMI to analog.

See previous post. Switch to analog.

But if you are not using and is causing a problem why dont you disconnect the HDMI cable???

Your question is not related to piCore.

No. Video output selected during boot based on config.txt

But please, disconnevt HDMI cable from TV set.

i change my sd card & run open elec via same board .
So , removing & re-inserting hdmi cable is not suitable .

Can you tell what should I modify in config.txt for RCA jack ?
Also , does a headless picore mean no x server ?

1) http://elinux.org/RPi_config.txt
2) X is not part of base, just an extension.
