Hi,
How Can I install Firefox 0.8 (or 0.9) in Tiny Core Plus?
-
Seriously? 0.8? Why not just publish your root password.
-
:P :P :P
i know, 0.8 version isn't secure. but the last version in APP MANAGER is too heavy for my old notebook (Pentium 3 1GHz, RAM 128MB)

Maybe try links.tcz
Can be used in Text and Graphics mode (links -g).
-
Or Opera.

Hi quellen
Those specs sound awfully lopsided. Machines with that fast a processor usually have much more RAM.

If RAM has been upgraded, but necessarily so at all otherwise, e.g.:

Hi tinypoodle
Yeah, but he's sporting a 3.1Ghz processor.
-
OP sure could be more accurate, but the "." is interpretation, while I myself interpreted "Pentium 3@1GHz".
Sure the different interpretation about OP's specs explains seeing them lopsided or not ;)

Hi tinypoodle
... but the "." is interpretation ...
No interpretation involved, just me having though I saw a decimal point that wasn't there.

I tried to launch this version of Firefox 0.8:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/0.8/firefox-0.8-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.gz
but it says error:
"./firefox-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libgtk-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
How Can I install libgtk?
p.s.
my CPU is Pentium III with 1GHz.

gtk1.tcz. Please use the "provides" search for checking which extension contains a file.
