Hi Guys, how can I install putty in latest version of Tiny Core Plus (5.2), its not coming up in search list in apps, I tried to change mirror list but that didn't help, I've also tried to copy putty files from distro.ibiblio.org/tinycorelinux/4.x/x86/tcz manually to TCE folder but it won't start, thanks for help.

What error message do you get when you start putty from tc-4.x in tc-5.x?
-
I'm not getting error, I'm not sure how I should start it, I've tried just type putty in terminal but can't find it, what's the best method of installation putty on TCP 5.2 or how to convert it from TC-4.x? why putty is missing in TCZ repository?

You need to copy the putty.* files from the Core 4 repo to your optional directory.
Then you need to be sure you have installed the gtk2 extension.
Then run 'tce-load -i putty'.
It isn't missing, because it was never there.
Core 5 is a newer version, and not everything has been ported over there.
I will post a note that putty works on core 5.

Thanks for that, I will test it asap, also thanks for note.

Great its working, but I rebooted PC and icon is gone, I have type command again, is that the only solution? or shall I add command to autostart? Thanks for all tips.

Use Apps to select putty for onboot.

OK, where exactly I should have a look in apps, because I can't find putty on any list, I keep all putty files in opt folder, I hope thats right.

tcz extensions have to be placed in /tce/optional/ .
Then they will be listed in the Apps tool.
In my case, that would be /mnt/sda4/boot/tce-5.x/optional/ .
/etc/sysconfig/tcedir/ is a symilnk to your TCE directory. From there you can cd into your /optional folder and place your extensions there.
/etc/sysconfig/tcedir/ is a symlink to, for example, /boot/tce/ .

That's perfect solution, thanks a lot.

For totally unrelated topics please start a new thread in the adequate subforum, which likely is related to some specific extension rather than base - as is certainly the case with putty! - as the default wm does not provide multiple desktops until they get created.

Putty has been added to Tiny Core Repository, no manual installation is required, thanks for help everyone.
