Title: TC Booting from server
Post by: zmudap9 on March 06, 2014, 09:14:21 PM
Hi I have downloaded current version of tiny core and I am able to run it in GUI mode from an iso file, but when I mount it on the server and run it through a pxe I can only run a tiny core in command line mode. I did not have a problem with tiny core 3.8. Could someone help me how to deal with it please.

Core is command line only.
For X you must install the required packages ( Xprogs, Xvesa, flwm_topside ).
Please read the wiki article on how to have persistent TCE sttorage with PXE boot.

I have installed Tiny Core ver 5.2 not Core and I can see Xvesta and rest of  packages in cde folder but I dont know how to load them to tce folder because I supoose is doing automatically when you run Tiny core from cd but not when you run it from the server.

Read the article I linked to above.
V4 and V5 do not have separate core and tinycore initrds.
There is only core now, so you need to load the modules to get X.
