is there any change of having this console based "grooveshark" client built as an extension. Stops the need for
adobe flash etc.

Grooveshark is a kind of itunes....which streams CD quality music like a jukebox for free. (No adverts). Currently it has over 20 million tracks available to stream.

It does not appear to be GPL.  Actually it appears you must agree to a TOS.

It appears like that is all written in ruby and may not need any building.
You could give a try to just follow instructions after loading the git, ruby and rubygems extensions.
