Title: appsbrowser reinstall button
Post by: jpeters on May 24, 2009, 02:25:09 PM
This might be a nice feature .....reinstall the app; leave deps alone unless something is missing.

note: app would have to be shut down first, if possible, or else require a reboot (such as with jwm, etc)  ........could also be called an "update" button.

I like the update idea but the deps are just as likely to need updates as the parent app. I would be happy with a utility that simply did a check to determine if all the apps in tce and tce optional are  up to date or perhaps just different.

Forget auto update; the user chooses to update/reinstall an app.  Deps are listed, and can be updated the same way the app is updated.....one by one.  If a dep is missing, it gets installed....the user makes the choice, not a timestamp.

edit:  Maybe easiest way would be an option to overwrite app w/wo deps to the tcz folder without installing, so the latest files are present after a reboot.
