Ah - OK, I took the view that these were optional and the user could add deps to his/her taste (see comment  in info files).

In my view these are not optional deps. Or you can take them optional, but in this case it will delegate extra work to the users to find out why it is not working when they are trying it and install what is missing. I think it is better to add to .dep

The direct deps of gst-plugins-{bad,good,ugly} are clutter, flac, libsoup, aalib, libpulseaudio, libvpx, libdv, taglib, libavc1394, libiec61883, cairo, gdk-pixbuf2, libpng, libjpeg-turbo, speex, gtk3, libdvdnav, soundtouch, libexif, curl, libmad, libsndfile, faac, faad, libmpeg2, bzip2, neon, celt, libass, libdca,  libmimic, libmms, libofa, libvdpau, libschroedinger, libgsm, mpg123, libdvdread, libmpeg2, lame, liba52, libcdio, twolame and x264.

I feel it goes against the ideals of tc to load all of these "just in case" they're required.
