Title: bootsync
Post by: LazyLarry on December 12, 2013, 04:53:25 PM
ive been playing with scripts in bootsync and had a bug that left me stuck in a while loop. So now, when booting, i never get past bootsync. Is there anyway i can edit this file now and fix the bug? THe system doesnt boot. Ive tried putting "text" into the bootcode, without success. Ctl C doesnt exit the script.

Boot with 'norestore'.  Then extract the mydata.tgz and fix the problem.  Then zip it back up.

Make sure you extract to a filesystem which supports POSIX attributes & symlinks, i.e. not msdos/ntfs et al.

Tried that but it didn't work.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks.

It has to work, and why are you speaking for LazyLarry?

There is essentially no other method, and if you can't pinpoint the culprit directly then it is a matter of "Trial and Error".
