Title: Creative X-Fi (SB1090) howto?
Post by: bmarkus on November 05, 2013, 02:26:48 PM
Hi,

anybody has experience with the SB1090 USB soundcard under LINUX? Connecting to Rasberry Pi or x86 laptop (TC 5.0) it is recognized, but mixer shows only  'Power LED') :(

Edit: Found a topic at http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=16087 Will try blacklisting builtin sound device

Blacklisting snd_bcm2835 while mixer control still missing, playback works. Sound quality is much better than built-in audio which is not a big supprise.

Also, it shows that the 'modprobe snd_bcm2835' in alsa-modules...tcz must be removed as it is overriding blacklisting :(

BTW it is connected to RPI's USB, no powered hub used, looks OK. Also it is not necessary to change USB settings which is good,

Getting better. Now there is output volume control as well as capture level setting.
