Title: 5.0.1 : acerhdf - Acer Aspire One Fan driver
Post by: Raschid on October 05, 2013, 09:38:18 AM
Hi everybody,

I just went from CorePlus 4.2 to 5.0.1 (new install).
Everything works fine except acerhdf:

modprobe acerhdf fanon=58000 fanoff=5200 returns no error messages and
dmesg shows:
acerhdf: Acer Aspire One Fan driver, v.0.5.26
acerhdf: Fan control off, to enable do:
   acerhdf: echo -n "enabled" > /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/mode
acerhdf: kernel mode fan control ON

next I do:
echo -n "enabled" > /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/mode

cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/mode reports:
   enabled

all of this looks very good, but:

cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp reports:
   46000

so the fan should be of, but it is still purring along happily (and noisily).

Any ideas?

Cheers,
   Raschid

46000 > 5200

the problem persists ...

any suggestions?
