Realtek SD reader on my acer netbook is not seen by TC. How can I get this supported?
-
Was it worked on Linux or Windows?

Hi slkpg
How can I get this supported?
I recommend you start by mentioning which Realtek device is in you computer. To identify it, try using lspci. If it doesn't
show up there, try using lsusb.

In windows, where it works, it just says realtek PCIE card reader listed under memory technology driver in device manager. So, needs a driver. I am a little fuzzy on how to do this in linux. Lets say I find the driver, how do I install it?
Thanks.

Hi slkpg,
Please run 'lspci' and 'lsusb' commands and show the outputs.
Whether the card can be used on linux or not is depends on the card's details.

Akane.

My TC does not have these commands. Are they in an extension?
-
Install pci-utils and usb-utils extensions then optionally update their id files

RTS5116 PCI Express Card Reader

There is the driver of that on Realtek's official page.
http://www.realtek.com/Downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=15&PFid=25&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#2
But I don't know which version is correct and how to install it.
