Title: finding the right man pages

As many extensions lack manpages I often find myself in the bad position of having to use google and web pages instead of man.
The problem with this is that man pages often change, and it's very difficult to find the manpage that belongs to the specific version of the program that is in tinycore.
How do you guys solve these kinds of problems?
