Hi,
I am a newbie to TCL. I have this old Dell desktop with 80 GB HDD and 256 mb RAM.
I tried to follow the instruction in the wiki but no luck.
(The forum is not allowing me to post the link here)
1. I went to the download link and downloaded the iso image for "Tiny Core" (Not "Core" nor "CorePlus")
2. I used GPARTED to create an ext4 partition and a 512mb swap
3. I then used Unetbootin to create a bootable USB drive with the above iso image.
4. I succesfully booted into the sytem with a nice desktop (but the screen is not bright, not sure how to increase the brightness, that's for another topic)
5. I opened a terminal and typed in "tc-install"...but nothing happened.
Let me know what I am doing wrong here.
Regards,

Hi gocool
4. I succesfully booted into the sytem with a nice desktop (but the screen is not bright, not sure how to increase the brightness, that's for another topic)
Now click on the Apps icon and install tc-install.tcz, then try step 5 again.

Thank you Rich for the quick response.
I installed as per your instruction ...
...but when I booted back, it did not boot into the X envirnment. It just went to the CLI. How do I get the X (not sure if it's fluxbox or any other WM, but the one in liveCD was slick and cool).

Hi gocool
The WM on the Tinycore CD is flwm_topside. When you did the install, did you select the Install Extensions
option shown here:

Ah...perfect. That did the trick.
Thank you Rich. Much much appreciated.
