Title: (solved) Error by upgrading gnutls2.tcz and viewnor.tcz
Post by: floppy on February 17, 2013, 04:38:36 PM
hello,
with 4.7.4, by trying to find new updates, it seems gnutls2 and viewnor had to be updated.
Via apps, the update try is cancelled with
====
Fetching gnutls2.tcz
Updating gnutls2.tcz failed
Fetching required dependency: ntfsprogs Failed
Updates complete. Reboot to effect.
====
curious message.
ntfsprogs is there.
How to update correctly?

hi

on main mirror apps gui shows depends of
Quote
gnutls2.tcz
   libgcrypt.tcz
      libgpg-error.tcz
   libtasn1.tcz
   nettle.tcz
      gmp.tcz
   p11-kit.tcz

suggest you delete the gnutls2.tcz, gnutls2.tcz.dep and gnutls2.tcz.md5.txt and in a terminal try after changing to main mirror
Code: [Select]
tce-load -w gnutls2.tcz

good luck

Topic is not really solved, but more of a workaround for the current problem.

Am not sure why Update will not update certain extensions.

Updating gnutls2.tcz Failed
and
Updating getFlash11 Failed (this always fails for some reason)

upgrade_error logs indicate an "wget HTTP error" (that error transcript is not complete)  and "Error occurred. gnutls2.tcz Not updated!"

Am not sure of the reason yet

I had the getFlash11 update fail problem, but switching to the fastest mirror site appeared to resolve it (or maybe that site just happened to work better). I haven't actually tried getting Flash since then though.

I know there was an issue in the past with updates that require new dependencies. The process would update the main tcz but not get the additional tczs it needed. I haven't run into this lately so it may have been resolved at some point.
