Title: Resolution is too low
Post by: AndreaMonaco on January 02, 2013, 08:01:37 AM
I like TinyCore, but I never managed to set the resolution to a decent value for a big monitor.
(At around 21', you need at least an HD-equivalent resolution!)

So, just for curiosity, could you tell me which resolution did you achieve in your TC installation?

Xvesa (the default) and Xfbdev are limited to standard vesa BIOS resolutions. Use Xorg if you need more.

There are no such limits in Xorg, as long as both your card and display can do it.

i have intel 915,  it does not pickup the vga card resolution, when live installing or installing it onto hard disc.
does he kernel have the i915 module?

give us step by step approach to get a resolution of at least 1366x768 on a intel laptop.

Did you try the Xorg-7.6 extension?

You might try the 915resolution extension.
