So apparently no way to install from core_current ... I have to install core from CorePlus ...

Boot it, use the tce-apps program to install tc-install.
Install.

Can't find the tce-apps program .. but I found the tce* executables in /usr/bin/ directory ...

No worries gerald .. I was able to execute tce-ab ... but I can't seem to find how to install tc-install.tcz, I searched tc-install then chose it, but I can only see the information about tc-install ... how do I proceed installing it?

I think you'll find detailed Installing information here for you  wiki (http://wiki.tinycorelinux.net/wiki:start#installing)

Nothing is impossible, but you might find the process easier if tinycore-current was used to install core with.

Incidentally I discovered how to download extensions using tce-ab ...

1. search for the needed extension
2. choose among the list shown
3. type letter "q"
4. type "i"
