Team Tiny Core announces Core v4.7.2 is now available.

Change log:
- Updated /opt/tcemirror to default to new server.
- Updated provides.sh for local download and integrated local search.
- Updated search.sh and scm-search.sh for local searching.
- Updated tc-functions to support corepure64 repository and useBusybox aliases function.
- Updated tc-config to factor out rcS
- New boot code xonly to disable Exit to Prompt in exittc GUI.
- Removed deprecated keyword cgi.
Requires: Updated Xprogs now posted in the repository.
NOTE: Files that have changed and are likely in your backup. Your backup will then override the new contents.

Everything seems back to normal, except during boot i noticed "Booting Core" used to report "Booting Core 4.7" A change I guess ?
Typing "version" at the terminal obviously indicates the version

But then I was only booting the base.

rcS is a required startup script that is used to boot the system. A request was made to change rcS from being a link to tc-config. To become a separate non-changing script that would call tc-config. This way it opens up the possibility to wedge in a boot splash screen.
See: http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,14553.msg82515.html#msg82515. I suppose I can add back in the release number. But it is not a big deal when version is avialble as was previoudly mentioned.

$VERSION is used in rcS, but defined in tc-config.

Talk about making a MOUNTAIN out of a molehill. How many more posts can I expect from such a trivial non-operational item!
If this bugs you so much then stay with the prior release! Sometimes the pettiness and thanklessness is more that I care to take.

Roberts, I think the same thing every time, your works are great and I believe that in this forum there is nobody who does not recognize this.
I feel that the reason why you can have a different impression on the opinion of others is that you probably have a very high workload.
All these responsibilities put you in a very critical perspective.
But in the end it would be worse if no one care to comment on and discuss the progress done?

perhaps could help a minimal change in the changelog:
there could be three sections:
first, all fundamental changes that most users should know and understand.
second, changes that are only important for advanced users.
third, the changes under the hood for development and scripting, that are not essential for the common user.

Roberts, that was very clever - getting this release out before the end of the world. Strangely, the world doesn't look any different for having ended.
Meanwhile, it may be worth noting that the presence of /opt/tcemirror in one's backup can be a minor problem upon upgrading - I was surprised to see it still pointed at distro.ibiblio.org until I realized what I had done. :)

True, workload has continued to increase, with now not only Core to maintain and test but also
TinyCore, CorePlus, piCore, piCore-qemu, a10Core, all need to be maintained, images built and tested.
However, as I noted above, it only takes one post to report an issue. Testing and posting of issues has never been a problem for me.
In fact many improvements are the result. It is when I see a piling on of several posts on the same, and this time, tivial matter that resulted in my unexpected and hasty reaction.

Thanks for the reminder of the backup overwriting the new server. I have updated the announcement with a "Files likely in your backup note!"

FYI. All images v4.7.2 reposted with verison displayed at boot. Perhaps v4.7.2 is slighly less imprefect than before.
Also a note was added to announcement page regarding the new contents of /opt/tcemirror and backup please read.
Even though we are attempting to sync with ibiblio, it is not certain that all will be there, repo.tinycorelinux.net is the master source for all images and repositories. Eventually we will get new mirrors to directly mirror from us rather than we attempt to push to ibiblio.

The only one has problem with this version?
1. Can not auto load extensions in tce/optional folder. After boot extensions can manually be loaded by tce-load -i. If I change back 4.7.1, it works again.
2. Can not run sudo, it says: sudo: must be setuid root

works for me, can you confirm you have the recent 4.7.2 by checking its md5sum please?
2) and post the output (I googled it) for this command and I show my 4.7.2 results
ls -l $(which sudo)
(not OP but my output)

also I can run $ sudo su
