Hi,

I have what I think is a really quick question. In copy mode (achieved through use of copy2fs.lst), is the .tcz copied to RAM and then mounted like normal? Or is the .tcz temporarily mounted, files copied to RAM, and then the .tcz un-mounted?

Judging from this diagram (http://distro.ibiblio.org/tinycorelinux/arch_copymode.html), I'd say that the second description is correct. I've never used Copy Mode because my machines don't have a lot of RAM, and I'm wondering how much more RAM Copy Mode would use.

In essence, the question is whether the extention is still compressed or not, after being loaded into RAM.

The diagram is correct. Try on a small extension and you will see, no longer mounted and installed uncompressed as would be expected. Careful not to exhaust your memory. Selective copy can improve performance. See the change log for jls e-core, the enlightenment window manager is now copied to ram.

I can see that setup having many useful features, but at this point in time I don't think that I have any need for any of Copy Mode's advantages.
