guvcview is a web cam that can record an image or a video

it works for uvcvideo kernel module web cams.

Has an intuitive control panel so no docs needed.

You can click a box and enable INPUT volume bars for your microphone, these do not show on output

the screenshot is from my usb lead web cam and attempts to show the volume bars
---thats inside the recording box above the panel.....green bars at top left hand corner
------but my output video shows it....because I am pointing to the record box while capturing it

Looks nice. By the way, in the description field of the info file, you spelled webcam as wecam.

just as well I did not spell it with an ee

I am working on a spell checker atm so can only blame myself for not using it!
