Tiny Core Linux

I just installed Tiny Core in a Windows 8 Hyper-V. It came up fast and easy. However, when I click on the Apps icon it gives an error message about "Couldn't load mirror list. Maybe network issue?" if I ask to use the faster mirror.
Using ifconfig it lists things as local loopback with an address of 127.0.0.1. How do I get it to make a connection to my network?
Thank you.

I should probably add that before I made the VM, I created a virtual switch and set it to external. I did select that switch when I created the VM. That should be all I need from the VM side, I think?

Hi daenar
Click on ControlPanel->Network
-
Did that. Tried to click the Use DHCP Broadcast "yes" button and apply, but it doesn't do anything.
-
Also tried manually assigning an IP to no effect. Using the ifconfig command it only lists the "lo" device, nothing in there about eth0?
-
Well, what network card does it emulate?
-
What about "ifconfig -a"?
-
The Hyper-V external adapter is listed as: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.
"ifconfig -a" lists two devices: dummy0 and lo. dummy0 lists link encap:Ethernet and a MAC address, but the MAC looks nothing like the one coming off the Hyper-V MAC address.

Ah ha! Based off a tip from http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/5078-hyper-v-create-linux-virtual-machine-windows-8-a.html?ltr=Hgeneral, I deleted the network adapter in the Hyper-V settings. I then did an "Add Hardware" and selected "Legacy Network Adapter" and connected that to the external virtual switch I originally created.
That done, I have internet access. Yeay.
Thank you all for the replies and interest.

TCL 64-bit works perfectly on Hyper-V 2012 R2.
Moved my VM from Vmware to Hyper-V 2012 R2 & it booted with no issues.
It is the ONLY Linux based VM that I had ZERO problems with after the move!
