Title: gimp 2.8.2 - pretty stable with the single-window-mode
Post by: netnomad on September 04, 2012, 07:05:58 AM
hi juanito,

it would be great, if you provide us the actual gimp with the single-window-mode.

thank you for your contributions.

The issue (last time I checked) is that there was a bug with 2.8.x that prevented gimp from working with wacom tablets, which is probably the one most commonly used by digital graphics artists.

Quote
GIMP 2.8 relies on a newer version of GTK+2 that unfortunately has partially broken support for graphics tablets such as Wacom. If your graphic tablet doesn't work in GIMP 2.8 as it should, we recommend downgrading to 2.6 until we release GIMP 3.0 that relies on GTK+3 which has fully functional support for advanced input devices.

I was waiting for this bug to be addressed and/or gtk3 to work with tc

It has a hidden dep on xcb IIRC, while our current X stack is xcb-less.
