Title: Java plug-in blocked/disabled for Sun JDK extension
Post by: thane on August 15, 2012, 12:59:40 AM
The Java plug-in on my Namoroka browser has been disabled, apparently as a result of a block request from Mozilla. This is version 1.6.0_26 which I believed was installed with the sun-jre.tcz extension.

edit correction: sun-jre, not jdk.

Shame on Oracle, newer releases in the repository are not possible any longer, because they removed the DLJ license [1]. You'll have to download it directly from the corresponding website or use openjdk.

I can re-enable the plug-in but per Mozilla there's a security risk.

I tried open-jre but the websites I visited didn't recognize that Java was installed. Since the sun-jre worked right away I didn't dig into the open-jre problem.
