Looking at the cde dir of CorePlus I see some .instlist files.
What are they for?

Read them and the syslinux config file.
They are for the different boot options.

are you "talking" about isolinux.cfg?
Inside that file I see only .lst not .instlist

jls, it is used by tc-install.sh depending on the group selected by the user in tc-install GUI.
