Title: Broadcom 57xx ( BCM5755M ) issue on Dell D830 laptop
Post by: innominate on August 08, 2012, 04:01:20 AM
Hi, I'm trying to boot TC on a Dell Latitude D830.  Everything seems to work okay except that TC doesn't recognize the NIC, i.e. there's only a loopback device, no eth0.

The NIC in this case appears to be a Broadcom BCM5755M.  Any suggestions before I start playing with NDISwrapper or otherwise heading down the wrong path would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Is this one that needs firmware to be loaded?

Thanks Juanito, that was it.  It required firmware-broadcom.tcz.

I originally poked around in that file but only saw 802 references to 802.11* and figured it was just for wireless cards.
