Title: Helping TC Driver Development (WiFi)
Post by: grandma on August 07, 2012, 02:08:32 AM
While the wireless tools - et all - have been
fairly successful at lighting up nearly all
wlan radios I've tested thus far (nearly 2 dozen),
I encountered one the other day  - built into a lap top
that didn't respond to IFCONFIG WLAN0 UP etc.
or anything else.

Is there a model/type etc. or the dmesg
that I could post that might help you
"add" that unit to the successes you already have
or perhaps some other method I might try to
kick start that puppy into gear.

lspci or lsusb output mainly, depending on how it's connected inside. (with the -vn option to both)

lspci or lsusb output etc.

Looks like I have both

libpci
and
libusb

libpci apparently loads (?with wifitools?) but libusb did not - loaded it manually with tce-load etc.

Will retest later this week with user who experienced problem.

Thank you.

lspci != libpci
lsusb != libusb
