Are you sure it's loaded? That file is definitely a part of firmware-radeon.tcz. Note that you should probably put it before graphics- in onboot.lst.

Hello,

thanks that's it, i have seen that the audit tool at edit mode of onboot.lst on version 3.8.4 on deletes packages
on a click to a other addon. Somtimes more than one tcz removed. Please add a dep on boot for radeon-firmware.tcz and
graphics.

thanks..

I can't do that, since firmware-radeon is only used for radeons. The graphics- extension is the kernel support for all vendors.

Hi,

found perhaps a bug, if grub setting vga=normal on boot to disable framebuffer on console it (speed up console on Thinclient) seems that the firmware-radeon.tcz is blocked on request by the graphics-module-2.6.33? I remove  the "vga=normal" option and the dmesg "failed to load radeon firmware" disappears.

right?

Is the a framebuffer mode for hide all kernel boot messages? (black screen) more than "quiet"
