Title: Network Confiiguration
Post by: mbertrand on July 17, 2012, 08:31:47 AM
Network configuration via ControlPanel is saved where?
And if I restart without backup is it persistent?

Hi mbertrand
It's saved in  /opt/eth0.sh.
Only if you have a persistent /opt directory.

My opt folder is in my .filetool.lst.
Is this what you mean. I have not set any boot codes for this.
Thanks for your time.

Backup should be scanned for and autodetected at boot.
Of course you have to make one first...

Hi mbertrand
If you use the network configuration utility, it will create a script called  /opt/eth0.sh  that will apply those settings
to your network card. It will also add a line to your  /opt/bootlocal.sh file to run that script every time you boot.

That's fine, when you shutdown, answer yes when ask to create a backup.

Yes this is what I'm doing. Thanks. The reason I was asking is that I have a coleague of mine that is also configuring his system and has changed via control panel dhcp to static and rebooted with backup and it appears that it is still dhcp.
I will investigate that it is set up properly to be persistent.

nodhcp boot code will prevent dhcp from starting.
