Title: Setting network settings

I am running tinycore with LXDE and liking it very much. In my earlier distros, I was able to set network settings using NetworkManager and NetworkManager-applet. I cannot find the network-manager-applet in Apps. What is the best way to set network settings? Thanks for your help.

The included network applet in the config panel / the "hardcore" cli utils.

You can install Network Manager.

However, it does not work for mobile broadband. There are dependencies missing. Someone let me know if this has been fixed.

It should work for most other things.

Thanks. I can use that to specify network settings. But I do not see any network connected icon which I can use to disconnect the network and reconnect. This is normally provided by networkmanager-applet or nm-applet which I cannot find here. Is there any other way I can get a network connection icon?

No, no such icon in the lightweight tools.

You can use:

• network-manager-gnome, which I think u have to use it as superuser and so it store it's settings under /root/.gconf
• wicd
• If you use e17 there is a module called connection manager in the e17 extension which needs connman.tcz, but  it doesn't work with wifi adapters
