I'm a total tc-noob and i just tried to install tint2 via app-manager.
so i downloaded it with OnBoot selected and restarted my computer but there was no panel  :(
maybe someone could tell me what i made wrong, (i have libglade installed).
I've absolutely no idea what to do.

thanks in andvance for any helpful answer

I'm guessing you should start it from ~/.X.d - see these forums for posts on how to do this.
